8/9/14

So I have read a few more chapters of my book and this is the first time I have had the chance to update it, you know between work and almost getting sun poisoning, things like that consume you time, like this blog. So in the book Frodo and hobbit friends and Strider finally get to Rivendell and they save Frodo’s life. We meet up with Bilbo again which is lovely ad we meet elven people like Elrond and Arwen. Everything is lovely and cheery and they have a feast. Then its back to business, they have a consul about what to do about the ring. In the counsel you get a lot of the much needed plot that will explain future events. You hear about Moria and how dangerous it has become, and how in Gondor they are oblivious to the real danger that is happening in Mordor, and you hear about how Gandalf and Strider searched for Gollum and how when they found him they interrogated him. It is really great. I still like the movie but at this point I am beginning to like the book way more. It was a little touch and go before but now the pace is picking up it is getting easier to read.
Now a life update: still working, still belly dancing, I haven’t broken my phone yet, I went tubing down the river and didn’t bring the sun screen with me. I thought I would be out for an hour or two. I was in direct sun for six hours. My legs were raw and swelled up. So I went to the doctor and the prescribed me stuff to get rid of the swelling because it was getting hard to work at sonic.

Also I am going to a belly dancing show tonight, so that should be fun.

7/22/14- 7/27/14

I finally got my new phone and I am figuring it out. I added my music and I'm getting new ringtones. I am also finding a lot of new useful apps as well. Even tho I am still really busy with work and everything, there are some fun and exciting things happening in my summer. At the end of this month I am going to a concert with my dad, it is called "under the sun" tour and it has blues travelers, smash mouth, sugar ray, and uncle kracker playing. I am so excited. My dad also bought us really good seats so I will be close to the stage. Another fun thing that is happening is that there is a comic con coming up and the costume I am making so far looks really good. I just finished making the top and it looks really professional. So that is very exciting as well, maybe I will win a prize for it. I am dressing as an Orion slave girl from star trek, and I am modeling the costume from the orions from Enterprise, not the original series. As for my riddler costume, I just got the spray paint i needed to make the question marks, now I just need to create a stencil and that will be one step closer to getting that done.

...

I haven't had the time for much reading. On my days off I am at the food pantry helping my grandparents stock and build shelves for the new food pantry they have. When I am not doing that I am working. Or sleeping. I am never getting enough sleep. I am always tired.

7/10/14

I just finished reading Ch 11 of The Fellowship of the Ring. It was good. Similar to the movie. It was where Frodo ended up getting stabbed in his left shoulder. I liked the books version better, the fire that attracted the wraiths wasn't an accident, it was their defense. The wraiths feared the fire because it is also the weapon of Sauron. I thought that was cool. I also liked reading about Frodo's struggle with the ring, it was way better than watching him just slip it on in the movie.
I am still working at Sonic. I am trying to get out of the morning shift tho. And I'm not sleeping much anymore. Belly dancing class was super fun, wish I had more classes a week but that isn't happening. I finially got to a yoga class yesterday, it was my first class since I have started work. I needed it. It didn't help me get to sleep though. I hope to do another class Friday.
I am also waiting for my new phone to come in. Very stressful. Like this blog.
What else... Oh, yes, I have almost finished my cosplay. I am going to stencil in the details of the costume, then I need to paint the hat and the shoes. Then it is done. Then I start the next cosplay.

I just want to say that this years summer homework is degrading.
I am not at the same level as an eighth grader, so I should have more meaningful summer work.
I am not at the same level as an 12th grade English regular student.
Therefor, I should have more meaningful summer homework.

Read for two hours and one blog post a week.
You could have asked a monkey to do this instead of wasting what little summer I have.

If you are going to give summer homework, then give me something appropriate to my level of English.
Don't group all the grades together. IB English kids are not the only ones who deserve something meaningful.

7/3/14

I guess I didn't catch you up on my book. Like I said in my first post I am reading The Fellowship of The Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien. I am reading two hours a week because I am a slow reader and want to finish this book so I can start the next in the trilogy. I have read to Ch 11. I have met Strider, A.K.A Aragorn.
Since I saw the movie first, I am constantly comparing the movie to the book. It is a pet-peeve of mine when movie ignore the story line of a book. I am proud of the movies for doing such a good job at staying with the book. Though I wish I got to see Lady Goldberry and Tom Bombadil. Those two characters were awesome.
And right now I am grumpy with my computer for not accepting any of these names as correct spelling. Just accept it in your dictionary already.
Lastly, an update on my summer. I am still working at Sonic. I have not yet successfully had a yoga class that fits into my schedule, so I have had to do yoga on my own time. I have today and the 4th of July off, thank you very much. Hopefully I will finish sowing my costume then, if I wake up early enough.  Dance starts on Monday. I lost my phone and am going to spend my first paycheck on replacing it. I dyed my hair red.33
I am still very angry at this blog. I have my own actual blog to take care of. A blog I want to make into something. I don’t Like that I had to create a new blog as a summer assignment. This is just busy work. Like my summer isn’t already filled up with enough things, you thought I needed an extra, time-consuming thing.
Well here, let me let you in on a secret. No one needs busy work. Ever.  Just like during the school year when I already have other homework to do, I don’t need your busy work then and I don’t need the busy work now.

This whole zen I am trying to keep, gets completely ruined every time I have to write a blog post. It isn't fun.

6/27/14

This is, what? My second week of summer... No it is way past that. my first few days of summer were nice, then I went down to Georgia to tour UGA. I love UGA, the campus is beautiful, Athens is beautiful. I would really love to get in, but I have heard that they are trying to accept more boys, because they have been accepting to many girls. So that worries me. Also, it sounds hard to get into in general, I just am not sure if I will get in, and it is my dream school. So there is that pressure.
What was weird about touring was that I didn't get to sit in on a class or meet people, I only got a feel for the campus and not for the people. That is what I need to really reassure me. When I was touring high schools I was stuck between St. Catherine's and Trinity, but as soon as I went to Trinity and toured and sat in on classes and got the feel for the school-- I knew I would fit perfectly there. It is the feel of the school that matters to me, I definitely got good vibes from Athens tho, so if the college is anything like the city then I will be fine.
Once I got back from Georgia I went down to the beach with the Daniels', that was really nice and relaxing. That is, until Goldie and I started creating new cosplays. I am cosplaying as the Riddler and that has been really stressful to design, but I think I have it right now. I just went out and bought some new ribbon today.
I started work at Sonic two (?) days ago... I think. Very recently for sure. That has been great, I am already back in the swing of things and it was really great to see all my friends again.
And I have started taking yoga classes. And belly dancing classes.
Summer is shorter this year, which isn't fair. I have things to do. And I already have another blog to run, no offense. There wasn't enough time during the school year, and now it wont be enough time during the summer. My life continues to be one giant stress magnet.
But that is ok. Because I am handling all this, and while I don't think some things are necessary, like this blog (just stating the facts here, not trying to be rude) I will still give it my all.
I know we are supposed to write about what we have been reading. I have been reading The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkien. My friend Choisser got it for me last summer and I haven't had the time to read it until this summer. Now I am going to have to make the time. Thank you.
I think I will just add another hour to my day. To everyone's day. I will have to make an announcement to the world, let them know that there just isn't enough time. We will have to recall all the clocks and buy the new ones that go to the 13th hour.
Ok now I am being mean about this, I am just upset because I wanted to be in IB English but apparently Decker didn't think I was good enough. So thanks to him too.
I should probably stop before this gets overboard, I have to leave to get ready for work anyways.
Because I have a job, I work from 4 until midnight, or should I say the 13th hour. Everyday. Then I have yoga in the morning, and now summer assignments which include blogging and reading and biology where I go out and do fun things (which was super nice when i had the time for fun things), I have dance, and I have my cosplay to create, also my parents expect me to do chores around the house, and every once in a while I will sleep. Maybe. But there probably isn't any room in the schedule for it.
Thanks for reading my blog post, until next week. If there is time for next week.
AND NO, I WILL NOT GIVE UP STUFF I LOVE TO DO THINGS I DO NOT WANT TO DO. That is an awful solution suggestion and I am tired of hearing it, like I said before I am time managing just fine. I added a 13th hour. I can do this. I will just lose a little hair and gain a few wrinkles in the process.
